Vastu Shastra of Real Estate

This is a Hindu version of feng shui. You might recall my previous post “Looking For a Space With a Compass” and this is an update (read that one first). Finally, we’ve found “the” location. Before the tenant can make his final decision, he must have a Hindu priest inspect the location to ensure the location has the proper “layout for success”.

The first problem: the staircase must be on the right - this one’s on the left. Second? The front is wider than the rear - also not good! After performing the property inspection (sorry, I mean the Vastu Shastra check-up!), he issues a report: Yes, the location faces in the proper direction. Still, it does not meet the Hindu requirements for a “successful business atmosphere”. Forget about driving around, and in-person inspection of potential locations. For this tenant, I am getting back into my PJs.

BAD REAL ESTATE AD PHOTO OF THE DAY

A collage of grandma’s garden photos? No, no, no! These are (the only) three property photos posted on MLS. Selling a 4-bedroom $700K-plus house? Advertise it with friggin backyard flower harvest pics! I’m dizzy.
