Unlock the Frozen Wall Street Credit - A $700-Billion Band-aid!

(post by BT) This is truly insane! Wall Street is NOT the US economy. “Paralyzed banking system”, “free up credit lines”… who gets this money? How is it going to be split up? The government needs a new agency - an economic business agency, ran by successful businessmen of this country, not some politician whose fund raisers are paid for by the people! So, if these banks crash, what happens to the successful banks? Nothing, they keep running and keep buying their competitors out of bankruptcy. Hello! Like Pink Floyd sang “is there any body out there”?! How crazy is this? “The largest crash in history” “Meltdown”? What kinds of words are these? Who gets the money and how? How much each? And for what? To free up credit? What would happen if banks asked homeowners to sell their properties because need their credit back? Imagine getting a letter in the mail “Hi. This is your bank. Please sell your home so we can free up our credit.” Why the bailout in the first place?

I propose a new plan. Suck it up, Banks, and turn all the bad adjustable loans into fixed mortgages at reasonable rates to help people who are paying unfair, ridiculous rates. Want your money’s worth? When the markets rise in a decade (hopefully won’t be that long) the banks can charge a flip tax, like the co-ops do! If Doritos let the public create ads for Super Bowl (that contest they had), why not let the public come up with ideas to resolve this credit crisis, too? For people with negative equity (who would have to overprice to get their money back), let’s guarantee them short sales. If they are going to lose their hose anyway, why wait? Banks could create relationships with local Realtors to sell these properties at a discount. That will bring housing prices down even further, but faster and without foreclosures and hardships on struggling population, and lower prices will make it possible for more people to afford a house in a city like New York.

Man, if I was to destroy my business out of greed and poor decisions, and I needed a bail out, no one would throw me any parachute! Hey, Wall Street execs, you want a bail out? How about you pay back those fat multi-million dollar paychecks made in the past few years. I am sure we can raise a few billion from such a collection alone!
