Brokering Business is 24-Seven

(post by BT) In this business there is no real schedule. When you get a call, you jump up and chase the business. I have been working on setting up an appointment with someone to get a listing. I was out showing some other properties, and the buyers where running late. So I pulled over to catch up on some calls. My wife and newborn child where with me (quality time with family LOL). This guy answered his phone (an opening) and said he can meet me in 2 hrs (been trying him for days!). Great! I had less than two hours to show these two properties, run back to my office, feed the baby, change her diaper and get my listing presentation together. I needed my wife to come with me to translate because the guy’s English is not 100%. The seller showed up late by 30 minutes. This gave me enough time to organize my paperwork. When we arrived, the potential client was having a family BBQ, and his kids where there. I figured he would appreciate me working with my wife, being a “family man”. His wife saw my baby (“Aw, how cute!”) and I explained to her that I try to spend any time I can with my family, and since I have hectic schedule, I bring them along sometimes. The guy’s wife thought that was “SO GREAT” - that was enough for her to sign the listing! (I also agreed with him that his job place was not appropriate for his own kids, helping him to fend off his wife’s “you should do the same” comments, scoring points with both of them.) So, basically my wife and my 4-month daughter got the listing and I just drove them there. :)

BAD REAL ESTATE AD PHOTO OF THE DAY

This looks like it was taken with a hidden webcam. When the owners realized there was an unidentified person in the corner of their living room, their Realtor put it up for sale at once!
